Ryan Gosling & Friends display their goods as well as the remarkable talents of an absent artist. 

When I got up this morning, #FakeRyanGoslingFacts was trending on twitter. While I’m not one for celebrity gossip these days, I decided I did have a few fake facts to contribute to that discussion. Searching for the one I was really looking for (that first one at the urinal), I stumbled upon a fake nude that reminded me of a collection of fake nudes that I’d long admired. Since I’ve never shared my admiration for these purely digital creations, I though it might be nice to plop them all in here for you guys to love with me!

The Ryan Gosling Nude in question is this one:

I can’t say for certain, but I believe this to be by the guy who runs the locked blog Male Ero Painter. He’s a Taiwanese dude who, working from photos and photo collages, creates elaborate and joyful acrylic-looking digital portraits of naked male celebrities. Unlike so many fake nudes (including these ones from my rant about how Joey and Chandler were 100% boning each other – at least a little bit – or this one where Adam Levine got superimposed on Bravo Delta), these aren’t just sloppy cut/copy/paste jobs, taking the head of a celebrity and jamming it onto the body of a porn performer.

MEP’s works transcend their source photos and become something even more exciting. They are certainly sexual (for the most part), but they stay clear of any implied ‘naughtiness’ or explicitly pornographic activity. The men in his works are casual, open, warm, and proud. Many of his creations are positioned with casual smiles and masculine, wide leg spreads (what I’ve begun to deem the #Spread of Pride on tumblr), and welcome the viewer to consume them in their various states of arousal and nudity.

And I think we all know that that’s my goddamned wheelhouse right there. <3
